Designed for global adaptability

Indoor air pollution from biomass and solid-fuel cooking is not unique to Nepal, it affects households across South Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa, and parts of Latin America. If the model works in Nepal, the underlying idea, a visible, low-cost cloth signal, could in principle adapt to other textile traditions and household contexts elsewhere. This is a long-term ambition, not a current programme: right now, all of our work is focused on the Nepal pilot. For future textile and fashion partners, this kind of long-term, multi-region potential is part of what makes the material's traceability story meaningful.
